Fishing Australian Snapper Late Season Summer Reds Catching A 5.3 kg Fish

Snapper Season is Here & Nothing Beats Fishing with a Few mates . On this Day we Went fishing In Australia's Port phillip Bay To catch some Snapper . We used Our Sounder To find a School Of snapper of Seaford Victoira . The sounder we Used was Lowrance Chirp which is a Great sounder to use To Mark up Snapper. The Best Types of bait For snapper fishing is fresh bait but Servo Pilchard's are great to use , i like the W.a Supa Pillchards by gotcha bait they are Fantastic . For are Fishing rods i like to use a shimano Sonic pro 4-6kg But this is a lite Rod and if your Begining to Target fish / Snapper i suggest a heavy Rod in the 6-8kg range or a 8 to 10kg Rod . The problem Fishing this light is Some Times you will Hook On to a Ray or a shark and Getting to the boat takes up Time where you could be fishing for snapper. The Fishing Line Usd is Berkley 17lb Mono . which is Ok but is a bit Light for snapper . The Fishing Reel Combo Used is a Shimano Sonic pro Matched Up with a shimano Sienna 4000 they are a good reel for the price . I have Spare Spools so when i fish for whitting in western port i Change to 20lb Braid and away i go . This Snapper was Caught On Reedy's Rigz We Bagged Out this Night and had a fantasic night Catching Snapper in 13.5 meters Deep of Seaford/frankston . you can find Some of the fishing tackle on the Links Below snelled Rigs are Great for port phillip bay But its also a Great idea to have 1 Flasher Rig Or snapper Snatcher on your four rod Spread . The other day i bagged out on Snapper snatchers By Reedy's Rigz and the Snelled rigs didnt turn a reel . some Day's snatchers are the go and Others the Snelled fishing rigs are . The Year we are Heading Over To south Australia to Target Some S.a Reds And look forward to catching a Big Snapper over there as there Snapper Season Kicks of when Melbourne's Victoria Is coming to a End . The Snapper Ban In Adelaide is to December 15 So we Are Looking Forward to the trip. Fishing for Snapper In S.a Is much the same As Melbourne The red run Up the Gulf to Spawn . Which takes place around Addrosian up the north End . and with a Little bit of Luck we Will be there to Catch them in 2016 .

Fishing rigs for port Phillip bay - this rig is my favourite all round size to target snapper in season on the bay it can catch bigger fish like the odd Mulloway of gummy shark that you may come across whilst fishing . its also a great choice pre-rigged when fishing offshore in reef environments or bottom bouncing .
